We are looking for highly-motivated applicants with a very good PhD thesis in mathematics, statistics or a related area who have an excellent background in statistical theory and/or computational statistics and optimization. The advertised position is associated with the working group of Prof. Axel Munk, https://www.stochastik.math.uni-goettingen.de/munk

We offer the possibility to collaborate in a team together with lab scientists within the DFG-cluster of excellence: “MBExC: Multiscale bioimaging: From molecular machines to networks of excitable cells”, the DFG collaborative research center “Mathematics of experiment”, the DFG Research Unit “Mathematical Statistics in the Information Age” and with other groups from mathematics and computational science. Possible applications include the development of new data analysis techniques for cryo-EM, super resolution microscopy or the analysis of cell formation and evolution. Finishing a habilitation or the willingness to work toward it is very welcome.
