Research Assistant in Biostatistics

A 2-year position as Research Assistant is available at the Department of Public Health, Section of Biostatistics, University of Copenhagen, starting 1 January 2024 or as soon as possible hereafter.

The position

The Section of Biostatistics conducts general biostatistical research and methodological development in biostatistics, undertakes teaching of biostatistics for the health sciences and for students of mathematics/statistics, undergraduate as well as postgraduate, and offers a biostatistical consultancy service for the staff and students in all disciplines of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The successful candidate will be working on biostatistical projects. The project work will usually have components in all the disciplines: applied data analysis, development/application of advanced statistical methodology, coding of algorithms and computer simulation, and writing of research reports. Many of these projects are in close collaboration with medical researchers. Usually, a research assistant is involved in two projects at a time. The project work will always be in collaboration with a senior staff member. The successful applicant will be a statistician with a master’s degree in mathematics or statistics. Students who will soon finalize their master’s degree are also encouraged to apply.
