The Danish Cancer Society Research Center is looking for a statistician to perform analyses and developmental work within epidemiological cancer research

About us
The Danish Cancer Society Research Center is an international research environment with 24 research groups ranging from biology to epidemiology. We offer research support from our four core facilities, of which one is Statistics and Data Analysis. You can read more about our research groups and organisation at

About the job
You will work together with colleagues in a research support function, collaborating with various research groups within the Danish Cancer Society Research Center, primarily within epidemiological cancer research. The position requires you to be able to work cross-disciplinarily, to enjoy being involved in several projects simultaneously, and have solid experience working with statistical methods. Your daily tasks will be guiding and assisting researchers in the planning of studies, performing and interpreting statistical analyses, participating in writing scientific articles, and taking part in enhancing and strengthening the statistical standards of the department. Based on the level of qualifications you will be hired as statistician, senior statistician or principal statistician.

You hold a Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or similar. You have a solid theoretical background and experience with applied statistics. A PhD degree may be an advantage, but is not a requirement.

In addition, you have experience with data analysis and you are expected to be responsible for design, data collection, analysis plans, quality-assurance of data and statistical analyses. You will provide active support to and interact with research groups in the center so you must be able to interpret and present statistical models to researchers with other backgrounds. You are acquainted with advanced statistical models and you master SAS, Stata or R at a high level. We expect you to independently organise and structure your tasks as well as work with different timelines simultaneously.

We attach great importance to your ability to join cross-disciplinary collaborations and to communicate statistics to non-statisticians.

We offer
We offer a stimulating job in an international research environment with good opportunities for professional development. The position is not time limited. Weekly working time is 37 hours with lunch break included.

Salary and pension scheme will be according to the agreement between the Danish Cancer Society and the relevant trade union. In addition, we have canteen, free daily fruit, sports activities and an arts association as well as a physiotherapist. Working hours are of course smoke-free.
