This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join our team at the Department of Statistics. The Research and Academic Support Administrator is a pivotal role and you will have the chance to get involved in cross-cutting work in academic and research administration and projects, and provide PA support to a number of senior academics. You will have a thorough and flexible approach, and a desire to develop and improve organisational processes to support critical academic activity. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their career in higher education administration.

The duties of the Research and Academic Support Administrator span a number of areas, with a particular focus on coordinating collation and use of data. You will support post-award grant management and other research-related administration. Within academic administration, you will support the admissions process, assist with timetabling classes, and support administration of examinations and assessments. You will also provide PA support for senior academics and project support for work such as Athena Swan and Research Excellence Framework submissions. You will liaise with other parts of the university to obtain and provide data, and help ensure that shared processes run smoothly.

As the Research and Academic Support Administrator, you will have experience of providing administrative support and be able to work flexibly as part of a team as well as independently. You will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an analytical and methodical approach and have confidence in working with data. Excellent judgement, tact and discretion is essential with the ability to be able to work under pressure and to multiple deadlines. It would be desirable if you have experience working in Higher Education administration and experience of Oracle Financials, X5 and eVision systems. However, full training will be provided and candidates are not expected to have experience of all areas of the job.
