The Biostatistics section is a dynamic section with a great diversity in tasks and strong involvement in all phases of drug development, from research over first-in-man clinical studies, to large regulatory submissions across the world. They have a strong focus on scientific development and knowledge sharing and together they keep abreast of current practices in pharmaceutical R&D, state-of-the-art statistical methodology, and contribute actively to scientific communities.

The Statistics Department consists of two sections; Biostatistics and Health Economics & Epidemiology Statistics. The department is part of the Biometrics Division, which also includes the departments Data Management & Programming and Bioinformatics. Biometrics has 85 engaged and competent employees, 70 located in Copenhagen and 15 in Singapore.

The Biostatistics team consists of 10 skilled employees ranging from newly graduated Biostatisticians to Specialists, specialised in working with scientific and methodological aspects within the field of Clinical Research & Development. They are now looking for an engaged manager to strengthen the team further.

      Your main responsibility will be to lead, advice, coach and develop your 10 employees, and to plan and follow-up on activities and resources. This includes participation in setting, communicating and following up on goals for the department as well as ensuring continuous development in tools and processes. You work in close collaboration with the other Managers in Biometric Division and with your colleagues across the R&D organization.

      In addition, you may be involved in the clinical projects by giving biostatistical input to design and planning of clinical studies, performing statistical analysis and participating in interpretation of clinical study results. You must also ensure that efficient and transparent processes, systems and standards are in place and are used intelligently.

       

    • You will:

  • Ensure daily managerial support and conduct Global Performance Management Process  

  • Ensure a suitable distribution of tasks and workload to meet project goals and time lines

  • Carry out the overall planning and follow-up of activities, advice on progress and identified challenges

  • Contribute to attracting, retaining and developing competent employees in the department

  • Ensure knowledge sharing and communication between management and employees

  • Ensure knowledge sharing between employees in section

  • Participate in the development and implementation of new methodologies and procedures

  • Motivate the employees to perform their best

    Lundbeck A/S is offering you a challenging opportunity in a headquarter based position in one of the largest completely CNS focused research organizations. The position is based in Valby, Copenhagen, reporting to Senior Director of Statistics.

 

Your Talent 

You are motivated by achieving results through and together with your team, and you are passionate about solving statistical challenges in a company striving for global leadership within psychiatry and neurology by improving the lives of patients.  

You hold a relevant Master’s degree in Statistics, Engineering or Mathematical Sciences with a strong interest in applying statistical methods to biological problems. You have more than 5 years of work experience with biostatistics. Applicants with knowledge of statistical software packages such as SAS and R, and an understanding of life sciences and drug development will be preferred

 

If you have a proven leadership record of accomplishment with several years of experience, you may be placed on a Senior Manager level. Alternatively, you have demonstrated strong leadership capabilities and are now motivated by entering a Manager position. You will receive training and strong support in developing your managerial skills.

 

Strong communication skills are important in this role, which has interactions with many other disciplines. You can work independently and as part of a team and you are keen on working in a multicultural environment. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Fluency in English with good verbal and written language skills is a given.
