Statistics in popular science writing hackathon

Udvalget for Presse og Formidling

January 19, 2023

The Committee on Communications and Press would like to cordially invite you to an exciting hackathon event about communicating statistics in the popular media. Are you interested in improving your communication skills when talking or writing about your own research, or statistics in general? Do you want to practice writing popular science articles and blog posts? Then this event is for you!

Anders Høeg Lammers, Redaktør af Forskerzonen, will give a presentation about how to plan and write about research for a general audience. Read more about Forskerzonen here:

Michael Sachs, Biostatistician at UCPH, will give a presentation about Quarto, how to set it up and create interactive content without a shiny server.

Work together with your friends and colleagues to brainstorm topics for blog posts and articles. Engage in structured writing sessions to get started on some drafts for potential use on the DSTS blog, Forskerzonen, or elsewhere.

Network with your colleagues, meet new people. Food and beverages (fuel for articles) will be served.

19 January 2023, from 14.00 to 20.00
